A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam messages, but this issue can be rectified using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

Creating a catch-all e-mailbox will be incredibly easy in case you have a Linux web hosting with us. You can activate this feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is built into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage your account. You will see all the email addresses that you have set up listed in alphabetical order and next to each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly show you whether a specific mailbox stores all the messages for a certain domain or not. With one single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you like. If there is active email forwarding or if another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain, you’ll get a notification from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be enabled without difficulty in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a small logo handily situated right next to each of them. With just a mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature through the menu that will come into view. In case any of the requirements for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will let you know, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
